‘Alice to Mparntwe‘ Exhibition – Watch This Space GALLERY
From 19 July to 31 August, Watch This Space Gallery hosted Alice to Mparntwe, an exhibition curated by Doris Stuart Kngwarraye, Dan Murphy and Lucy Stewart.
Stick Mob’s Alyssa Mason and Wendy Cowan contributed artworks to this exhibition, recognising the deep cultural knowledge that Doris Stuart Kngwarraye shares with us and how they shape the stories Stick Mob tell.
Being part of a Alice to Mparntwe cultural tour last year showed us how story, art, and Country are inseparable — how every rock, tree and riverbed carries knowledge and relationship.
Thank you, Doris, the curators, and the Watch This Space team for holding ground for these conversations and for making space for artists to listen, acknowledge, and create in ways that honours Arrernte Country as having agency.
